Maii & Zeid is the collaborative electro-acoustic and indie project formed by Egyptian singer-songwriter Maii Waleed—who weaves keys and guitars into her songwriting process—and pioneering Lebanese producer and multi-instrumentalist Zeid Hamdan. Carving out a distinct space in the Arab region’s alternative music scene, the duo crafts a timeless, trend-defying sound that bridges intimate acoustic roots with sleek, modern electronic production.
Rather than chasing fleeting music trends, Maii & Zeid focus on raw emotional resonance and organic experimentation. Their signature fusion pairs Maii’s evocative vocals and introspective Arabic lyrics with Zeid’s warm electronic arrangements, creating soundscapes that feel both deeply grounded and effortlessly contemporary.
Their story began with their acclaimed debut album, Moga (2013), an instant classic for alternative listeners across the region. They followed with a string of influential releases, including "Kalam El Leil" (2014), Ezaal (2015), and Ehdefni (2017).
Reconnecting with a new generation of listeners, Maii and Zeid continue to push their artistic boundaries through a slate of recent releases. Standout tracks like "Fashi", "Manhoos", "Mizan", and "Ard Fadya" display a refreshed energy, layering expressive vocal storytelling over textured, hypnotic electronic beats. Meanwhile, cross-border collaborations such as "Tekbar Tekrar" (with Selin Sümbültepe) reflect their ongoing passion for creative dialogue and boundary-pushing genre blends.
